This report on presplitting highway cut slopes by the California Division of Highways discussed and analyzes the construction methods and problems, the specifications, and the economics involved with the presplitting of sedimentary rocks. It is the third report in a series on presplitting in different rock types. The first two reports of similar content dealt respectively with metamorphic and granitic rock presplitting.
