Gas House Cove (East Harbor Facility), San Francisco Marina Small Craft Harbor, California
Gas House Cove is located on the northern shore of the City of San Francisco approximately one and one half nautical miles east of the Golden Gate Bridge. Along with the 'West Harbor', this facility forms what is known as the 'San Francisco Small Craft Harbor'. Shortly after construction it became apparent that the eastern harbor, Gas House Cove, is subject to excessive wave action and the resultant damage. The detailed project recommends a 117-foot concrete pile breakwater to connect the two existing breakwaters. It was determined the project would have no adverse impact.
