Pavement Damage Functions for Cost Allocation. Volume 2. Descriptions of Detailed Studies
Pavement damage functions were developed for both flexible and rigid pavement distresses that were considered significant as generators of major repair or rehabilitation. Volume 2 reports the results of laboratory testing of material samples from flexible pavement test sections in New York, Texas, Florida, Louisiana and Colorado, and the characterization of material properties for the VESYS III-B flexible pavement model. The testing included repetitive load testing and indirect tensile tests, as well as conventional material testing. The materials characterizations included fatigue life potential for asphalt concrete, stiffnesses of the component layers of the pavement structure, and permanent deformation potential for the component layers.
