Initial Housing Element
The report represents the first in a series of studies of the housing situation in Fayette, Greene, and Hale Counties. It describes the existing housing conditions, delineating a detailed analysis of structural conditions, and it discusses the actions taken by the member governments which affect the housing situation. It contains a preliminary study of the housing market, pointing out the disequilibrium between supply and demand for housing. The study presents a discussion of problems existing in housing in the three county region, and it sets forth the obstacles which impede the solving of these problems. The Initial Housing Element culminates in the formation of a work program for the next three to five year period, based on objectives determined for the planning agencies and the implementing agencies.
