Supplementary Subsurface Investigation, Amherst Avenue Parking Structure, Section B010G, Glenmont Route
Results are presented herein of four test pits made adjacent to the American Legion and Sir Walter Raleigh Buildings in the vicinity of the planned Amherst Parking Structure in Section B010g of Glenmont Route. The purpose of the work was to provide information on the characteristics of the building foundations for the design of underpinning or building protection prior to the excavation for the construction of the garage structure. The report contains a location plan, geological section, sketches illustrating the test pits, discussion of general subsurface, foundation conditions and recommendations on underpinning treatment of these buildings.
