Proposed Pauahi Urban Renewal Project, Honolulu, Hawaii. Part I
Modification of 2 block area (Pauahi) in the Chinatown Area in downtown Honolulu is proposed. Activities include demolition of unsound structures, rehabilitation of structures of historical significance, construction of 2 high-rise residential towers, 1 large off-street parking facility, several low-rise multiple structures, several commercial structures and several parks and plazas within the project area. Upon project completion, and physical adverse effects will cease and the neighborhood will be physically and economically upgraded. Social impacts will be realized upon project completion such as increased densities, additional school demands, sewer demands, transportation demands and power demands.
