Skidding in Personal-Injury Accidents in Great Britain in 1965 and 1966
Personal-injury accident date for 1965 and 1966 were examined to investigate the various factors influencing skidding. The relative risk of skidding in accidents was measured by comparing the percentages of accidents involving skidding (the skidding rate) which occurred under different conditions. Skidding rates were compared on roads subject to different speed limits, on different classes of road, and at different times of year. The trend over the years 1959 - 1966 was also examined. (Author)
