This project is an 18 mile segment of Interstate Highway 94, located in Stearns County, Minnesota, extending from approximately 1-1/2 miles northwest of Collegeville to 1/2 mile southeast of St. Augusta. The proposed facility is a 4-lane freeway; this project is needed to provide continuity of the interstate highway system. The required right-of-way for this project will require the displacement of 11 families, will take some agricultural land out of production and will destroy some wood land and wildlife habitat. Wherever the highway is located, the residents near it will be exposed to an increase in noise level and auto emission air pollution, and because of the controlled access proposed, some circuity in local travel is unavoidable. The construction of the highway will require an alteration of the landscape along its route.
