The Proceedings cover a number of topics in connection with low class road construction. The conference was sponsored by the USDA, Forest Service, to discuss low class road construction and materials problems encountered in South Central Oregon primarily those involving volcanic cinders and pumice. Topics covered are as follows: Performance rating for aggregate surfaced roads; Construction Specifications for Cinders used as road surfacing aggregates; Quantitative measurement of dusting on aggregate surface roads; Use of Pumice as a road construction material. Panel discussion on application, maintenance, and paving of pumice and cinders, in low class roads. (Author)
