The proposed improvement represents 1.3 miles of highway construction beginning at the Kearney-Interstate 80 interchange in Buffalo County and proceeding south across the Platte River into Kearney County. The improvement includes the relocation of a segment of Nebraska Highway No. 44 southerly from Kearney interchange, and a new bridge spanning the Platte River. Adverse and beneficial environmental effects are discussed.
