Design Recommendations for Steel Reinforcement of CRCP (Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement)
The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of the variations in properties of concrete mixes composed of limestone and siliceous river gravel aggregates on the design and performance of CRC pavements. These models reflect differences in the properties of concrete mixes composed of limestone and siliceous river gravel aggregate types. Utilizing these concrete property models and formulating a factorial based on environmental conditions, pavement geometry, and steel reinforcement variables, an analysis was performed with the CRCP-4 computer program. The pavement performance predictions from the program were used to develop aggregate based CRC pavement steel reinforcement design models.
