Design and Construction of Steel-Concrete Hybrid Caisson
A steel concrete hybrid structure inherits high strength from steel and high durability from concrete. NKK has developed various types of hybrid coastal structures and some of them have been already put into practical use. In the paper, among such hybrid coastal structures, the hybrid caisson composed of steel concrete composite slab has been introduced and its structural concept, design method and construction example have been described.
