Magnitude Method for Identifying Underground Nuclear Explosions
The statistical data on the relation between the magnitude Ms obtained for surface waves and the magnitude mb obtained for volume waves P during underground nuclear explosions and earthquakes recorded by seismic stations in the USSR is analyzed. The possibility is shown of identifying underground explosions by the magnitude method by domestic means, without inspection. (Author)
