US 270 in Leflore County, Oklahoma, from the US 270-US 271 Junction and Extend East 6.0 Miles to Wister
The project begins at the US 270-US 271 junction west of Wister and extends east 6.0 miles to Wister on an alignment generally offset and contiguous to existing US 270 in LeFlore County. The project consists of developing a primary state highway on offset alignment to serve a corridor consisting mainly of thru traffic. Adverse environmental impacts arising from this project include the displacement of nine rural, single family dwellings, increased air and noise pollution along the proposed corridor, and slight potential for water pollution during construction of the bridges in the area.
