Elements of this report of general interest include its discussion of (1) standards for physical facilities and operating procedures, (2) high value districts, (3) recommendations for outlying areas. The section on standards for physical facilities involves many criteria concerning: (1) district delineation; (2) location delineation; (3) site selection; and (4) building requirements. The progression goes from the most general (establishment of planning districts) and moves to the specific (building requirements). Presented here are the national criteria established by the National Board of Fire Underwriters. Special detail is devoted to aspects of the fire building including the apparatus room, alarm center, living area, fire hose facilities, and fire prevention. Also presented is the inventory of Lawton's fire fighting equipment and facilities. The report is general in nature and fundamentally summarizes national standards of fire facility location.
