Proposed Wilderness, Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico
The National Park Service proposes that 21,110 acres within Bandelier National Monument be designated as wilderness and added to the National Wilderness Preservation System. The major effect of this proposal will be to limit use of these monument lands to that permissible under wilderness management. Opportunities for wilderness experiences will be preserved. Possible adverse effects include restriction of types and amount of use and construction of future facilities.
