Skookumchuck Creek to Heckman Ranch, U.S. Highway 95, Project F-4113(51), Idaho County, Idaho
The project would provide for the realignment of existing U.S. Highway 95 beginning 5.3 miles south of White Bird in Idaho County. The project would vary in length from 2.41 to 2.45 miles to the north. Highway improvements would require the commitments of approximately 6.5 acres of irrigated farmland and from 2.5 to 3.0 acres of adjacent private land area. The study corridor (approximately 2.5 miles in length) is heavily dependent upon highway transportation for social and economic needs. The proposed project would provide increased safety, convenience and comfort, decreased road user costs, improved aesthetics, and decreased State highway maintenance costs. Selection of the Bridge Plan would displace one small business and the High Plan would necessitate the relocation of one private residence.
