A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Idaho Forest Highway Route 1, North-South Highway, Copeland Junction to Eastport
As part of the overall transportation plan of the State of Idaho it is proposed to improve approximately 15 miles of U. S. Highway 95 from its junction with State Route No. 1 to the U. S.-Canadian Boundary. The existing facility does not lend itself to minor upgrading and must be completely reconstructed. Adverse environmental effects which cannot be avoided include the displacement of 6 businesses and 8 residences, adverse effects of highway construction, new right of way requiring 125 acres of land, loss of some winter range area to big game animals, disruption of established game travel patterns, and probable increased road kill; and highway cuts and fills which would affect the surface and ground water resources.
