Idaho Forest Highway Route I, North and South Highway, Copeland Junction to Eastport With Exception Boundary County, Idaho
The report describes the highway improvement encompassed within this Environmental Statement consists of the construction of U.S. Highway 95 from its junction with State Route 1, approximately 9.2 miles northeasterly to a point located on the existing highway in Boundary County, Idaho. The moderization of the existing highway will reduce travel time for through traffic and will provide a fast, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing link in the transportation corridor from the United States to Canada. The Community of Eastport, adjacent to the United States - Canadian Border would be disrupted under any proposed improvement. Relocation would therefore be necessary. Some winter grazing land would be impacted because of the necessity of acquiring additional right-of-way.
