Bridge Deck Deterioration Study. Part 7. Weathering Test of Reinforced Concrete Slab with Various Depths of Steel
A slab of high slump reinforced concrete was constructed with various depths of concrete cover over the steel as a preliminary indicator of the effect that the depth of concrete cover above reinforcement has relative to surface and subsurface deterioration. Weakened vertical planes, formed above each transverse reinforcing bar, accelerated the tests. There was no live load, and the type of slab support made the effect of static loading negligible. (BPR Abstract)
