A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A study of pore pressure data from eight Corps of Engineers earth dams indicates that the maximum pore pressure ratio of the foundation of these dams occurred at or near the end of construction. Guidelines are given for obtaining useful pore pressure data, including selection of the proper type of piezometer, installation procedures, number and location of piezometers, and frequency of observations. Supplemental information necessary for the proper interpretation of field pore pressure measurements is also presented. (Author)
