A brief background of the experimental 7-story Federal Energy Demonstration Office Building to be constructed at Manchester, N. H. is given. A summary of the results of a pre-design energy analysis done at NBS is presented as a comparison of normal General Services Administration practice in 1972 with changes made for a new energy conservation design approach. A similar comparison is made for the same building if the location were changed to Orlando, Florida.
