Stuart Gulch Dam, Idaho, Project
Stuart Gulch project consists of a local flood detention dam on the intermittent stream in Stuart Gulch, a minor tributary of the Boise River. The damsite is located about 3,500 feet upstream from the mouth of Stuart Gulch in the foothills immediately north of the City of Boise, Idaho. The dam would be an earthfill structure 54 feet in height and 1,054 feet in length. About 194 acres of land would be required, eliminating one farmstead. A permanent impoundment would not be maintained behind the dam. The existing character of the land in the project area will be affected by periodic short-term inundation and silt deposition. Temporary disturbances will occur during the construction activity.
