Environmental Assessment for the Indoor Training Facility, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado
The United States Air Force Academy Endowment has prepared this Environmental Assessment (EA) to assess the potential environmental effects from constructing a new Indoor Training Facility at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The current facilities are no longer adequate to support the year-round training and competition schedules for the Academy s 27 intercollegiate sports, 15 intramural sports, and ongoing physical education classes. The new Indoor Training Facility would be large enough to facilitate most of the sports played at the Academy and provide a safe training environment during severe weather conditions. Two sites are proposed as action alternatives. Not constructing the Indoor Training Facility is the No Action Alternative.
