Archaeological Inventory in North Park, Jackson County, Colorado
An archaeological survey of 25,100 acres of Bureau of Land Management land was conducted in Jackson County, Colorado during 1977 and 1978. A total of 151 prehistoric sites, 14 historic sites and 322 isolated finds were recorded during this survey. These results were then used to construct a typology of prehistoric settlement in Jackson County (North Park), Colorado. The results of this survey provide a basic outline of prehistoric subsistence-settlement patterns in North Park. They are a combination of general adaptations to high altitude park environments and specific adaptations to the unique characteristics of North Park.
