The Economic Impact of the Freeways on the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area
The economic impact of the freeway system on the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area is widespread and effects numerous social and economic aspects of the life of the citizens of the region. Since the interrelationships between social and economic factors are complex and because of constraints on time and resources, it was decided to insolate one particular aspect of the freeway system, the economic impact and study that one in some detail. The analysis covers six vital areas of the public and private economy. A further goal of the research study is to provide basic information for models to identify the kinds and extent of impacts which a freeway may be expected to influence.
