Central Business District Plan, the City of Anderson General Plan
The business district plan is a proposal for retention and improvement of the central retail core area. As described in a previous economic survey, the potential exists for substantial increases in retail sales. The increase in retail activity would fill the need of many shoppers, increase business profits in the core area, and provide additional tax support to local government. The Development Plan is based upon the recommendation that most retail activities be concentrated in the downtown area. (Author)
