A Method for Earthquake Resistant Design of Earth Dams
Records of damage resulting from earthquake show a number of cases of failure of earth dams and embankments. The design of such structures to safely withstand the destructive effects of earthquakes therefore constitutes a major problem in seismically active regions of the world. The report assesses the effects of these pulsating stresses, superimposed on the initial dead load stresses, on the embankment configuration. (Author)
