Fire Data Collection and Retrieval at the Fire Department Level and the NFPA Survey Questionnaire
The study was an effort to improve the methodology used for the annual NFPA survey of fire department's fire experience by refining (1) sample selection methodology, (2) the fire department questionnaire, (3) the estimation methodology for making national estimates. Regional meetings were held at the Louisiana State University Firemen Training Division at Baton Rouge, LA and the San Francisco, CA Fire Department. The fire incident data collection system of each area was discussed as well as the quality and completeness of the data items collected on the survey questionnaires.
