The Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) is the Nation's most advanced surface transportation research and development facility. As the research and development center for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), it strives to show the world how roads and bridges can be made better through the use of contract-sponsored research, application of new and emerging technologies to highway problems, onsite laboratory testing, field evaluations, concept demonstrations, and application assessments. The results are transferred to State, local, and international highway communities.
