Effectiveness of Existing Rehabilitation Techniques for Jointed Concrete Pavements
The region of study encompasses the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This limitation ensures that the database will be broad enough to include varying procedures, but constrained to a generally similar set of environmental and service conditions. Overall rehabilitation includes restoration, resurfacing, and recycling. The scope of the study was limited to restoration work: full depth repair, partial depth patching, grinding, undersealing, joint resealing, and pressure relief joints. The selected methods are the most prominently used for current restoration projects in the country. Along with using these restoration methods in varying degrees, the respective states use differing design and construction methods for each.
