Single Document Plan
An analysis of the economy, population and existing land use provides the framework for the formulation of a comprehensive plan to guide development in West Point. The Future Land Use Plan endeavors to prepare the community for future expansion in all growth areas, while the Major Thoroughfare Plan and Community Facilities Plan investigate the city's existing facilities and projects and the needs that West Point must plan for in the future. The guidance of growth and development in urban and rural areas through comprehensive planning is necessary to insure orderly growth. Policies and plans established through an overall plan for development -- the comprehensive plan -- are being formulated to provide a development framework for these areas. (Author)
