Analise de Pontes Curvas em Caixao. Influencia dos Efeitos Diferidos (Analysis of Curved Box Girder Bridges. Effects of Time Dependent Behaviour)
The analysis of prestressed concrete curved box girder bridges taking into account the time dependent behavior of materials is presented in the thesis. The characterization of the materials time dependent behavior according to technical recommendations is presented and the influence of the parameters affecting that behavior is discussed. The methods usually adopted to take into account the time dependent behavior of materials in structural analysis are also discussed. Due to curvature and cross sectional shape, the hypothesis that the cross section remains plane and transversely undeformed may not remain valid in the analysis of curved box girder bridges. A method of analysis taking into account the warping and transverse deformation of the cross section is presented. The method can be applied to the analysis of concrete or steel bridges with variable cross sections. Both effects of the construction sequence and of the materials behavior are considered in the time dependent process of structural analysis of prestressed concrete bridges. The methods presented are applied to the analysis of the Tua Bridge. Analytical and experimental results are compared.
