Everett-Stewart Airport, Union City, Tennessee. Airport Project
The proposed project consists of the following items of development: The acquisition of approximately 17 acres of aviation easements; The construction of a 1000' x 100' bituminous pavement runway extension to the existing 4000' x 100' bituminous pavement runway; The resurfacing of the existing 4000' x 100' bituminous pavement runway with a pavement overlay; The construction of a 1800' x 40' bituminous pavement partial parallel taxiway; The installation of additional medium intensity lighting; The removal of obstructions to the airport approaches. The proposed project will not result in, or cause, any primary or secondary consequence on the environment. The use of the area as an airport represents no new and unrelated use of the environment in the light of its present use for crop cultivation. The use of the area as an airport is ideal in that its location is in a sparsely populated area removed from the proximity of residential and densely populated areas. There are no conflicts with other community interest in the area. (Author)
