Sparta - White County Airport, Sparta, Tennessee
The city of Sparta and White County, Tennessee, have requested federal funds under the Airport and Airway Development Act for a project to construct a general utility airport adequate for accommodating substantially all propeller aircraft weighing less than 12,500 pounds. This includes all single-engine and some light, twin-engine propeller driven aircraft. This construction will result in development of 4000' x 75' runway, stub taxiway and 150' x 300' apron with medium intensity lighting system. An access road, segmented circles, wind cone, VASI-2 and obstruction clearing are also included. The facility will be useable on a 24-hour basis.
