Annual Housing Survey: 1978. Housing Characteristics for Selected Metropolitan Areas: Philadelphia, Pa.-N.J., Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area
This report presents statistics on housing and household characteristics from the 1978 - 79 Annual Housing Survey conducted in the Philadelphia, Pa. - N.J. standard metropolitan statistical area (SMSA). The statistics presented in this report are based on information from a sample of housing units. The information was collected by personal interview from April 1978 through March 1979. Separate data are shown for ''in central cities'' and ''not in central cities,'' as well as for the SMSA as a whole. Data are presented according to all races, black -- with black household head, and Spanish origin -- with household head of Spanish origin. Tables show general housing characteristics, present indicators of housing and neighborhood quality by financial characteristics, highlight housing characteristics of recent movers, and focus on energy - related characteristics. Maps and table - finding guides are included. Appendices give area classifications, definitions, and explanations of subject characteristics; present the survey questionnaire; and explain source and reliability of the estimates.
