Hotel Zetra Feasibility Study: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
A feasibility study of a four-star hotel at the Zetra site in Sarajevo was done. In order to complete the study, the Louis Berger International, Inc - UNACO USA, Inc. team mobilized economists, architects, hospitality industry experts, civil and environmental engineers, and developers to conduct field and initial design work in Sarajevo in May 1998. In the economic and hospitality industry areas, we collected data on the performance of the national, regional, and city economies, and conducted an intense survey of all actual and potential demand generators as well as all known hotels and proposed hotel projects in the metropolitan area. The architects made numerous visits to the Zetra site so as to better design and hotel appropriate for the location. They also visited all local hotels and toured the city to get a sense of what type of design would best suite the redeveloping city. Trips to nearby cites of Mostar and Grancanica also improved the team's depth of understanding of the political/economic side as well as the design side. Likely environmental impact construction of the proposed hotel was performed also.
