OEO Funded Housing Programs. Volume III: Three Housing Opportunity Programs and Four Tenant Management Corporations
The three housing opportunity programs (HOP's) included in the HOP component of the monitoring project are: (1) The Housing Opportunities Center of Greater Los Angeles, sponsored by the Community Relations Conference of Southern California, Los Angeles; (2) Operation Equality of the Seattle Urban League, Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett; and (3) The Housing Opportunity Centers Program of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Louisville and Lexington. Although the Louisville and Lexington centers are listed in the monitoring project's contract as separate programs, they are operated under a single grant and are both under the direction of a state housing director. All three of the programs are operated in their states' largest metropolitan areas. All three seek, in somewhat varying ways, to conduct dual programs of (1) increasing the supply of low-income housing on a metropolitan-area-wide basis and (2) expanding housing options for minority-group families.
