The Principal Street and Highway Plan-1985
This is one of five master plan elements prepared as part of a comprehensive transportation master plan for Metropolitan Dade County. The element is part of the joint federal, state, and county sponsored Miami Urban Area Transportation Study. The street and highway plan develops a future highway master plan to solve traffic problems of today and avoid those of tomorrow. An $800 to $900 million system of expressways, express streets, and major arterials are recommended for projected travel demands in Dade County. The highway system also is related to the travel requirements of transit, airports, terminals and seaports to form a well-balanced transportation system for the metropolitan area. Transit is estimated to accomodate 6 percent of total daily travel in 1985. (Author)
