Seismic Performance Study 2-Story Masonry Wall-Frame Building
Task 2 of the TCCMAR Masonry Research Program funded by the National Science Foundation developed analytical methods for modeling the seismic performance of reinforced masonry buildings. The fundamental objective of the Task 2 research was to develop analytical models that were validated using comparison of predicted and measured laboratory experiments performed by other TCCMAR researchers. The analytical models must be consistent with two real constraints imposed by the structural engineering community. First, the theoretical basis for the models must be understandable to new master degree graduates of structural engineering. Second, the computer program must be able to be run on PC based computers (e.g. IBM 386) and must have run times no more than a few hours.
