Five individuals were granted Honorary Membership, ACI's highest honor given to "persons of eminence in the field of the Institute's interest, or one who has performed extraordinary meritorious service to the Institute." Since 1926 when this rank was established, 234 ACI members have been elected to Honorary Membership. Dolan received his BS in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, in 1965, and his MS and PhD in civil engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, in 1967 and 1989, respectively. "for his visionary leadership of the Strategic Development Council and the International Concrete Repair Institute, his pioneering efforts to set direction and procedures for those organizations, and his multiple enterprises and technical developments for the repair, restoration, and extension of service life, leading to a safer, more reliable, and more sustainable infrastructure" Peter H. Emmons is the Founder and CEO of Structural Group, a recognized leader in the specialty construction industry, headquartered in Hanover, MD. Emmons founded the organization in 1976.
