Conclusions The most economical and reliable method of eliminating the slumping properties of macroporous soils under the given geological conditions is the method of inundation, which with compaction by rollers or vibrotamping is advantageously used when the thickness of the settlement stratum is up to 5 m below the base of the foundations and more than 5 m when a sand matress is used.Compaction with heavy rams without pretamping can be used when the settlement stratum is up to 5 m thick.The sinking of reinforced-concrete piles in macroporous soils should be forbidden.The settling joints should be made at a distance of not more than 30 m.The foundations of the high and low parts of structures should be reliably disconnected.
