Two methods of selecting optimal; Design solutions for foundation stability on permafrost
Abstract The proposed methods are based on probability calculations. A comparable analysis is performed for these methods, which utilize different optimization criteria from which it follows that in the general case, it is impossible to render a preference for any of them. When analytical design methods are used, however, the minimum of the reduced total cost is preferred as a criterion that is simpler to implement.
