Analysis of Buildings and Structures on Complex Nonuniformly Compressible Foundation Beds
Abstract The need to present material derived from geologic-engineering surveys at construction sites in the form of a three-dimensional model is substantiated. It is noted that combined processing of data on drilling, probing, and laboratory tests with results of geophysical studies makes it possible to obtain a three-dimensional picture of the structure of foundation beds. An example is cited for the design and construction of buildings on nonuniformly compressible soils.
