Hydrotechnical construction and protection of the geological environment
Summary Noted in this report are both the importance of hydrotechnical construction of the national economy and its negative influence on the geological environment. While analysing the interaction between the geological environment and hydrotechnical construction, one singles out engineering geological estimation of the changes of the geological environment, prognosis of their further development and working out methods of their optimum control, as the most important problems. Methodologically, researches are based on the system principle, according to which the construction and the geological environment appear as a closely connected “engineering geological system”. One can find here the definition of a system and its basic characteristics. Researches on interaction between constructions and geological environment consist of a set of operations in succession: historical-geological, palaeogeographical and historical-economical analyses; engineering geological estimation of the present state of the system; prognosis of changes of the geological environment, working out of a model of the control system.
