Summary The man-made landslides can also be caused by blasting operations. Under unfavourable conditions e.g. if the strata of a rock massif dip into the slope, the damage can be considerable. It is shown that in addition to the acceleration of the vibrations caused by blasting the displacement amplitude has a substancial influence on the origin of a slope movement and its limit values are given in relation to the jointing of the rock massif.
