Optimal dimensions of reinforced concrete slabs for upstream slope protection of earthfill dams
Conclusions 1. The above-suggested method is fairly simple and sufficiently accurate. 2. Using similar methods it is possible to develop nomograms including various factors such as elastic modulus of concrete E1, deformation modulus of subbase soils E0, embankment slope m, steel type, and percentage of reinforcing μ and, consequently, determine the optimal slab dimensions. However, it should be noted that these monograms do not take into account the influence of joints in the overall performance of the protective apron.
