New upstream slope protection added on Santee-Cooper earthfill dams
To provide better protection for upstream slope of dams of Santa-Cooper project in areas where wave action can occur, old 10-in. thick porous concrete surfacing is being broken up and surfaced with 6 to 12 in. of filter stone and heavy riprap blanket; 6 to 12 in. of filter stone is first added followed by max of 3 ft 6 in. of large stone.
