The city of Tirana during the period of socialism (1944–1990) has been through a relatively large change in the field of construction. The motto of the time was standardizationStandardizationand typificationTypification in order to build quick, and to meet the needs of the population, fulfilling the demands of the market for new constructions. The quality of the constructions was very poorPoor in terms of buildingBuildingmaterialsMaterials and surface areaArea predicted per inhabitanceInhabitance. Meanwhile, the predicted static parameters of the buildingsBuilding reveal to be in good performancePerformance. The specific area taken into consideration located in the outskirts of the inner historical ringHistorical ring of Tirana is characterized by constructions realized during 1965–1980. The buildingsBuilding are standing using retaining walls, according to the technical construction parameters of the time. The aim of the questionnaireQuestionnaire implementation in the neighborhoodNeighborhood is to have better insights into the socialSocial, economic and inhabitanceInhabitancebehaviorBehavior within the neighborhoodNeighborhood. It is going to be analyzed their lifestyle, pollutionPollution in the areaArea, their level of satisfaction, the actual conditions of the buildingsBuilding, electricityElectricityconsumptionConsumption, waterWaterconsumption, heatingHeatingand coolingCoolinginstrumentsInstruments, ventilationVentilation habits, etc. The results showed that the level of loyaltyLoyalty to the buildingsBuilding is high, although the building physical conditions are very poorPoor and their level of satisfaction living in the neighborhood is above average. Their level of satisfaction considers more the location of the neighborhoodNeighborhood than the physical conditions of the buildings. The inhabitance agreed with a hypothetic thermal performancePerformance improvement of their buildingsBuilding although sometimes the additional surface is required as the main priority and as a very important quality of lifeQuality of life parameter.
