INBAR Garden Pavilion: Bamboo Eye
Since construction is one of the biggest culprits to global greenhouse emissions, introduce bamboo into the building market chain is urgent at this particular time in history. INBAR Garden Pavilion named Bamboo Eye, located at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition, is a demonstration of an innovative contemporary architectural solution for real problems of the environmental crisis from perspectives of design, construction, and life cycle. Bamboo Eye sets as an example of the potentiality of using round bamboo for construction as it demonstrates its structural properties, pushes forward the studies of international bamboo construction standards and inspires a new contemporary architectural language. Bamboo Eye is the largest round bamboo structure in Northern China.
